TIWLT is hosting a Fruit Tree Grafting Workshop, on Saturday, March 28 at the Glen Elbe Learning Centre, 9am-4pm.

Instructor Brian Henderson (B.SC. Agr.) will be our teacher. This will be a hands-on workshop where participants will have the opportunity to graft their own trees to take home.
🔪You will be learning how to hold the knife for the proper cuts. Some simple
tree anatomy will be discussed pertaining to grafting. 🍎There will be a practice session on apple wood in order to accomplish the proper cuts.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳Each person will take home 5 grafted trees that they did. Semi-dwarf apple rootstock (Em106) will be used to graft the scions onto.
🍎Heritage apple cultivars will be the grafting scion wood as well as modern cultivars. Even though we will be grafting apples, the techniques can be applied to other species.
