The Polar Bear Swim is BACK — bigger, bolder, and better than ever!
Join us at Centennial Beach in Boundary Bay Regional Park for Delta’s most beloved New Year’s tradition. Whether you're plunging into the chilly waters or enjoying the festivities from shore, it’s the perfect way to “hit refresh” as we kick off 2026 together.
Schedule of Events
12 pm – Festival activities begin & registration opens
12:45 pm – The Exchange performance
1:15 pm – Opening Ceremonies
1:30 pm – The Plunge! Followed by awards and celebrations
2 pm – The Exchange performance
Event Highlights:
• New Kids Plunge Zone – Designed for kids 12 and under, with caregivers welcome.
• Costume Contest – Bring your boldest, funniest, or most creative attire! Prizes for the best dressed.
• Live Music – Enjoy a special performance by The Exchange.
•Airbrush Tattoos, Warming Tent, and Marshmallow Roasting.
• Food Trucks On-Site – Grab a warm drink or tasty treat before or after the plunge.
• FREE Shuttle Service – Convenient shuttles running between the South Delta Recreation Centre and Centennial Beach throughout the event.
Registration:
Register for free through the online link or in-person the day of the event. Registered participants receive this year’s annual Polar Bear Swim pin.
Registered participants are eligible for special prizes, including early bird registration draws and participants who travelled the furthest. Must be at the stage after the plunge to collect your prize.

Family Plunge
Ring in the new year together! First family to ring the bell wins a special prize. Awards available in both Plunge Zones, families must consist of two or more people.
