The Holy Rocka Rollaz
Take a trip back in time to the Rockin' 50s with The Holy Rocka Rollaz! This high energy trio brings back the look, sound and spirit of Early American Rock 'n' Roll Pioneers. You'll hear the classic sounds of Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, The Everly Brothers, Brenda Lee, Eddie Cochran and many more! The trio creates a full, vintage sound with tube amps, instruments that perfectly capture the twang of the era and husband/wife duo, Mark & Lisa, bring their decades of singing together for a perfect vocal blend.
Mark Flora: Vocals/Guitar
Lisa Lynn Flora: Vocals/Stand Up Bass
Mike Arturi: Drums
Nothing pleases these rock ‘n’ roll veterans more than seeing different generations enjoy this classic music together. The Holy Rocka Rollaz play with such high energy and joy that people of all ages get caught up in the excitement that flies off the stage.
Front man Mark Flora says his proudest moment came when the band took the Winter Dance Party stage at the historic Surf Ballroom in January of 2016. “Knowing that I was playing on the same stage Buddy Holly performed his last concert, well, it was quite an honor.”
The honor of performing at the Winter Dance Party continued in even better ways! The Holy Rocka Rollaz HEADLINED a Friday night bill in 2018!
With wife, Lisa Lynn on stand-up bass and vocals, (and various professional drummers) the trio has performed at many state and county fairs, headlined the Back to the 50s Car Show (the biggest in the USA), headlined the Surf Ballroom's Winter Dance Party (the last venue Buddy Holly, Ritchie Vales and The Big Bopper performed in), over 100 theatres across the USA, Terry Redlin Art Center, casinos, Minnesota Science Museum, the world’s largest county fair in Clay County, Iowa, private events, car shows, sock hops, barn dances, churches and prisons.
The band’s first performance was in the South Dakota State Pen serving in a ministry capacity, where Flora had been sharing the good news starting in 2003. “We were having so much fun playing in the state pen that we decided to take our show to car shows and other events. We really do enjoy playing 50s rock ‘n’ roll just the way it was played back in the day. Seeing people light up when we really go for it brings this band a lot of joy. We hope to do this for many years and for many people.”
