- **Event Description**: Enjoy a late summer, early evening race through Delaware, Ohio’s historic Northwest neighborhood. Our one-mile course starts at the top of Lincoln Avenue near the Delaware Hayes High School tennis courts. Runners will follow a straight course through a beautiful neighborhood lined with cheering spectators. The last half mile is downhill, with the race finishing in Mingo Park. Multiple heats include high school, community, and elite men and elite women.

Register by July 27th to be guaranteed your preferred shirt size!

Which Event Is Right For Me?
We have a variety of races for you to choose from, but how do you know which is right for you? Here is our guideline to help you pick the right one for you!

High School Challenge Mile
The perfect test of your summer training right before XC season starts! Run as an individual high school runner or get a team together and compete on a great course through the shaded streets of Delaware. The downhill finish into Mingo Park will be the boost you need to head into the season! XC scoring for teams of 3 or more, see where you line up with Central Ohio's best. This event is for students aged 13-18.

Community Mile
Open to anyone! From our youngest milers in Central Ohio to those who have thousands of miles under their legs, the Community Mile is for everyone! We suggest a minimum age of 7 to participate, but if you have a younger runner who can complete a mile, they're welcome, too. 

Elite Women's and Men's Miles
We'll have separate elite heats to determine the fastest women and men around. There are no age limits, but we do suggest that athletes in these heats should meet these qualifying times:

Elite women should be able to run a 5:15 mile or faster, and those able to run a 4:50 mile or faster should apply for complimentary entry.
Elite men should be able to run a 4:45 mile or faster, and those able to run a 4:20 mile or faster should apply for complimentary entry. 
Our top four finishers in each of the women's and men's elite mile events will receive the following prize money:

Our comped elite entry application is available through July 31. All applicants will be notified of the decision on August 3, and athletes will be required to register at that time. Those not selected for comped entry are still encouraged to sign up for the elite heat and show everyone what you've got!
