This Ranger-led program meets in the Park’s carriage barn and proceeds to our stream access area, offering guests a unique program experience beyond the bounds of the historic area. First, we will take a leisurely wagon ride down to Gap Run, followed by a short hike to the stream. Participants will conduct water sampling and analysis, survey macroinvertebrates, and practice nature journaling to “capture” our discoveries.The program is designed for children ages 6 – 12, although all are welcome. The hike portion will cover a short distance (approx. ½ mile) over flat terrain. Come prepared to get your feet wet (recommend wearing shorts, shoes that may get wet, and consider bringing a towel for post creek exploration).
