Please join us as at our Delafield location as we welcome one of Wisconsin’s most renowned grain to glass distilleries, Driftless Glen who will be sampling some of Waterford's exclusive store picks, and other limited offerings.
Founders Brian & Reneé Bemis say that they didn’t choose their home for the Driftless Glen distillery. Rather they discovered a bountiful region rich with peat, bogs, an amazing aquifer, and uncommon sandy soil for our grains to grow in.
The distillery is located on the edge of the Driftless Area known as Sand County, and is distinctive from the rest of the world because of the specific combination of temperature, water, soil, and weather and which all combine to form their unique spirits.
It is a land of rugged hills, deep river valleys, rich prairies, abundant limestone, and sandy soil. Most importantly, it means that they have access to a natural sandstone aquifer. The terroir of the local region makes for prime conditions to grow grains and is an excellent water source, allowing them to produce their award winning whiskies.
