There is a very specific window in a girl’s life when confidence either deepens … or quietly erodes. For many girls, that window is the transition into high school.

The social pressure increases.
Friendships become more layered.
Comparison gets louder.
Emotions feel bigger and harder to navigate (add hormones to the mix!.

And most girls are simply expected to “figure it out.”

This summer, I’m offering something intentional for girls entering 8th and 9th grade.

Rooted + Rising is an 8-week in-person leadership and emotional intelligence circle designed to give girls the tools most of us were never taught at this tender and important stage of life.

This is structured, skill-based development — not therapy and not just a social group.

Over eight weeks, your daughter will learn:

• How emotions actually work — and how to respond instead of react
• What fight/flight/freeze looks like in real-life social situations
• Practical regulation tools to reset when stress or drama escalates
• How to recognize healthy vs. unhealthy friendships
• How to set boundaries respectfully and confidently
• How to handle peer pressure without losing herself
• How social media and comparison impact self-worth
• How to build internal confidence instead of chasing approval
• What real leadership looks like in a school environment
• How to walk into a room with calm presence and self-trust

Each participant will receive a custom Rooted + Rising journal that includes clear bullet-point summaries of every core concept we cover — so she has language and tools to return to throughout the school year.

The group is intentionally limited to 10 girls to ensure safety, depth, and meaningful connection. Class will fill up quickly and a waitlist will be created.

My goal is not to change who your daughter is. It’s to help her strengthen who she already is — before the world tells her who she should be.

About Christy Cotterman
Christy Cotterman is a holistic life coach and emotional resilience educator with over 15 years of experience helping individuals understand their emotions, regulate stress, and build confidence from the inside out.

Her work is grounded in nervous system education, emotional intelligence development, and practical leadership training — delivered in a way that is structured, approachable, and developmentally appropriate.

But her passion for this work began long before her professional training.As a young girl navigating social pressure, comparison, and the quiet desire to belong, Christy understands firsthand how fragile confidence can feel during adolescence. She knows what it’s like to try to find your voice in a world that often rewards conformity.

Today, as both a coach and a mother of three (including a pre-teen), she is deeply committed to equipping girls with tools many of us had to learn the hard way — tools for emotional steadiness, healthy boundaries, resilience, and self-trust. She also understands something many parents quietly experience: girls don’t always talk to their parents about what they’re carrying. Sometimes they need a trusted, consistent adult outside the home — someone steady, safe, and non-judgmental — who can help them process what they’re navigating. Christy honors the parent-child relationship and sees her role as a supportive extension of it, creating a space where girls feel heard, guided, and equipped — not alone.
