- **Event Description**: Please join us Thursday, December 11 at 6:30 to discuss YOUR CHOICE of non-fiction book that touches on the theme, 'Well-behaved women seldom make history.' 

Due to the Canada Post strike, we were not able to get copies of the book we'd planned to discuss at our December meeting. 

INSTEAD, we will each pick our own book to read based on the theme 'Well-behaved women seldom make history.' 

I will have a large selection of library books on this theme for you to choose from at our Nov. 6th meeting, or else you can choose your own book on the theme.

At our Dec. 11 discussion, we will each share a few words about the books we chose, and then we'll engage in some discussion about common themes that may have popped up among the books. 

For example,

1. Why did you choose that particular book? Is it a book you would have picked up if it hadn't been for our book club 'theme' reading?

2. Was there one particular scene or vignette in this book that elicited a particularly strong emotional reaction from you?

3. How did the woman featured in your book experience the societal pressures put on her to take a more traditional path? What factors combined to enable her to overcome these societal pressures?

4. How did the woman featured in your book change the experience of all people (including women and girls) who came after her?

5. What one aspect of this book will "stick with you" after this book club meeting ends? 

     Our reading list for Fall 2025 / Winter 2026 is as follows:

January - No meeting

February 5 - "Becoming" by Michelle Obama

March 5 - "Baltimore's Mansion" by Wayne Johnston

April 2 - "I'm Glad My Mom Died" by Janette McCurdy
