- **Event Description**: Many of us working and volunteering in animal welfare have dealt with that frantic call and we see the constant social media posts. “My dog ran away.” “My cat just snuck out the back door.” It’s heartbreaking and it’s often hard to know how to help. This day is for those who are in the animal welfare field and who could use a primer on what resources exist and how they can either plug into existing programs or create a new one. We will hear from lost dog and cat experts about everything from the technology (cameras, traps and microchip scanners) to the behavior of lost dogs and cats to the role of the shelter, rescue or animal control officer. There will be demonstrations and great conversation!
