- **Event Description**: Sixth Grade members of Decorah Middle School’s Environmental Action group are giving three presentations to the public at 5:30 on Thursday, February 19 in the mezzanine at Decorah Public Library. 

Students will present a plan for a bioretention cell to mitigate runoff from the parking long behind Decorah Middle School and the adjoining streets and yards; an argument for rooftop solar at Decorah Middle School with possible plans for how to achieve this; and a climate change presentation geared towards the general public. Each presentation will run 15-20 minutes. 

The Decorah Middle School Environmental Action Group is an extracurricular student group that works on projects that inform and hopefully move us all closer to a green future while lowering overall CO2 emissions.  

“We often hear from adult presenters at the library, so we’re thrilled for the opportunity to learn about concrete ways we can make our world better from some of the youngest members of our community,” said Zach Row-Heyveld, Assistant Director at Decorah Public Library. The presentation is free and open to the public.
