Nachdem im letzten Jahr der Brauch, der Sebnitzer Höhen Zustand von grün saftend hin zu staubig trocken zu transformieren, Einhalt geboten wurde, so klaubt der KLANGMANUFAKTUR e.V. in diesem Jahr endlich wieder den Staffelstab der Tradition vom Boden auf, um ihn einem magischen Feuerholze gleich drohend über die Waldeswipfel hoch über der Stadt, im deutsch-tschechischen Grenzland, zu schwenken. Natürlich, in Zeiten des Klimawandels ist jeder Umgang mit offenem Funken in verdorrter Umgebung ein gefährliches Unterfangen, doch zielt das Streben des Vereins erneut darauf ab, bei einem neuerlichen DESERT WOOD mit vier bis fünf Brandstifterkommandos das Feuer in den Herzen dieses wunderbaren, seit Jahren anreisenden Publikums zu entfachen.

Stück für Stück werden die musikalisch diversen Akteurinnen und Akteure in den nächsten Wochen bekanntgegeben.

After the tradition — whereby the Sebnitz Heights transform from a lush, verdant state into a dusty, arid landscape — was brought to a halt last year, the KLANGMANUFAKTUR is finally picking up the baton of this tradition once again. Like a magical piece of firewood, they will brandish it menacingly above the treetops of the forest high above the city, right here in the German-Czech borderlands. Of course, in these times of climate change, any handling of open sparks in a parched environment is a highly hazardous undertaking; yet the association’s mission remains the same: to ignite a fire in the hearts of this wonderful audience — who have been making the pilgrimage here for years — during another edition of DESERT WOOD, featuring four or five "arsonist squads".

Piece by piece, the musically diverse lineup of performers will be announced over the coming weeks.
