Stuart began his career accompanying bluegrass legend Lester Flatt and later performed with Johnny Cash before launching a celebrated solo career. His catalog includes the Gold-certified album Hillbilly Rock, the Platinum-certified This One’s Gonna Hurt You, and GRAMMY® Award-winning songs such as “The Whiskey Ain’t Workin’” with Travis Tritt and “Same Old Train.” His work has also extended into film and television. Stuart composed music for All the Pretty Horses, earning a Golden Globe® Award nomination for Best Original Score, and received GRAMMY® Awards for Best Country Instrumental Performance for “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” and “Hummingbyrd.” He also hosted the long-running television favorite The Marty Stuart Show.
