Understanding how food impacts blood sugar can increase your confidence in managing diabetes. Illinois Extension is offering two in person sessions to strengthen your knowledge and skills and will provide digital lessons or printed copies for additional support.
March 2 | What is a Carb? Identify foods with carbohydrates and how the carbs and nutrients impact your blood sugar. Practice planning meals that improve blood sugar using tools such as carbohydrate countine and the Plate Method.
March 30 | Diabetes and the Heart: Learn about four categories of nutrients that impact heart health and develop skills to help with shopping and cooking heart-healthy and diabetes friendly meals.
