**Dr. Jackson & Friends live at Eddie's Attic!**

Eddie’s Attic welcomes Tyrone Jackson and his eclectic band, who will perform jazz classics reimagined to reflect the diverse styles and genres that influenced them. Completing the lineup are Grammy-winning drummer Robert Boone, phenom bassist Joel Powell, and exceptional vocalist Lori Williams. You don’t want to miss this show; tickets are going fast.

*On Dr. Tyrone Jackson:*

Tyrone Jackson is the quintessential jazz piano player. His boundless creativity, coupled with harmonic mastery, utilizes the piano as a blank canvas. Jackson is nationally recognized and has traveled the world as a solo artist and sideman.

As a composer, Jackson's original music has been a source of inspiration. He has composed for Pulitzer Prize-winning author Natasha Trethewey’s book of poems "Native Guard" turned theatrical play, Pearl Cleage’s play, "Tell Me My Dream", "Ethel", “Nick’s Flamingo Grill” and the 2023 release of North Carolina Black Repertory Theater’s “Phenomenal Woman”. Jackson's unique compositions can be found in his 4 Albums—“Dedicated”, “Another Voyage”, “Melody In Nede”, and latest release “From The Mind Of.”

Currently, Tyrone Jackson is not just a performer and composer, but also a respected educator. He holds the position of professor at Kennesaw State University, where he is a Senior Lecturer of Jazz Piano/Aural Skills. His dedication to teaching is evident in the myriad of classes he teaches, including: Aural Skills III & IV, Jazz Improvisation I, II & III, Jazz Combo, Jazz Theory, Applied Jazz Piano, Group Jazz Piano and History of the Blues. Jackson's influence extends beyond the university, as he is also a clinician and teacher for the Rialto Arts Jazz program for middle school and the Clayton County Arts Association. Jackson is also a doctoral student at Georgia State University seeking a Ph.D. in Music Education.

Jackson has performed with Steve Turre, Larry Carlton, Carmen Bradford, Earl Klugh, Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Wycliffe Gordon, Vincent Gardner, Joe Lovano, Dave Douglas, Wes Anderson, Greg Dawson, Jennifer Holliday, Karen Briggs, Clay Jenkins, Russell Gunn, David Sanchez, Damaris Carbough, Russell Malone, and Marcus Miller.
