**David Cook live at Eddie's Attic!**
David Cook — yes, the same David Cook who rose to stardom after winning American Idol Season Seven — knows his way around a great song. Following his win, Cook broke multiple Billboard records, with 14 songs debuting on the Hot Digital Songs chart and 11 landing on the Hot 100. Over the course of his career, he has sold more than 2 million albums (including his platinum-certified self-titled release) and more than 5 million tracks worldwide, including two platinum-certified singles.
Before Idol, Cook released his independent album Analog Heart, and he later closed that chapter with Digital Vein, showcasing his continued growth as an artist. In 2018, he expanded his sound with the EP Chromance, drawing inspiration from boundary-pushing acts like Massive Attack and Nine Inch Nails. “I was a ‘rock’ guy,” Cook has said, “but the further away I’ve gotten from that, the more I’ve opened up and found inspiration in the peripherals.” The result is a confident, genre-blending sound that reflects his evolution as a songwriter and performer.
That same year, Cook made his Broadway debut as Charlie Price in KINKY BOOTS, embracing the collaborative energy of theater and earning praise for his performance. Beyond music and stage, Cook is deeply committed to philanthropy, particularly through his work with the National Brain Tumor Society. After losing his brother Adam to a brain tumor in 2009, Cook has helped raise over $1.5 million for research and advocacy efforts — a cause he calls his proudest achievement.
In recent years, Cook has continued releasing new music, including the 2021 EP The Looking Glass, featuring the singles “Reds Turn Blue” — a deeply personal reflection on anxiety — and “Strange World.” In 2022, he returned to the American Idol stage for its 20th anniversary and released “TABOS (This’ll All Be Over Soon).” Most recently, in July 2024, he released “Dead Weight,” co-written with longtime collaborator Andy Skib, alongside his summer tour.
With a career defined by resilience, reinvention, and heartfelt songwriting, David Cook continues to create music that connects — and proves that his creative momentum shows no signs of slowing down.
