Mason Mill Recreation Center (Upper Level)
Saturday, December 6 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Get ready to close out 2025 with creativity, community, and purpose. Our final Conservation Crafting session of the year brings together everything we’ve explored so far—feather-inspired cuts, painted fringe techniques, and now the art of transforming your broken or forgotten jewelry into something entirely new. Join DeKalb County Park Naturalist Tasha Messer and Georgia Beloved Naturalist alum Kimi Takikawa for an imaginative evening of reinvention using repurposed Southwest Airlines leather.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to shape, paint, and reimagine leather and jewelry components into bold earrings that tell a story of reuse and renewal. Whether you’re reviving pieces from home or starting fresh with provided materials, this session is designed for every skill level and every creative spark.
Guided by the Repurpose with Purpose initiative, you’ll craft three pairs of earrings—one to keep, one to gift, and one to donate to our community marketplace featuring sustainably made goods.
Come ready to explore, experiment, and create pieces that carry both style and intention. All materials provided. You’re welcome to bring any broken or unused jewelry you’d like to reimagine and renew.
