Community Screening: Ratified

Join Jambo Together and HerTerm for a special community screening of Ratified, a powerful feature documentary that traces the century-long struggle to embed gender equality into the U.S. Constitution through the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA).

The Ratified production team spent three years on the ground in Virginia documenting the bipartisan, multiracial, multigenerational coalition of activists and lawmakers who ultimately pushed Virginia to become the 38th and final state needed to ratify the ERA.

Ratified offers a lifeline to those of us who feel swamped by retrograde forces trying to pull us back into a hellish past. It shows what becomes possible when people commit to the long work together. We have won before. And we will again.

This film offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at:

• How legislation is actually made
• Why meaningful change often takes years (or decades)
• How small wins build momentum
• The power of unity across race, age, gender, and political difference

This is a family-friendly event, and kids are encouraged to attend.
Not just girls: girls, boys, and nonbinary kids will all benefit from seeing how civic engagement, persistence, and collective action shape the world they’re inheriting.

Ratified is an excellent starting point for conversations about justice, patience, courage, and the long arc of social change.
