- **Event Description**: Choose from several activities during our annual Open House: archery*, BB gun shooting*, slingshot*, hiking, fishing, kayaking, pedal boating, campfire snack, and other fun activities. Fishing during the Open House is all catch and release Participants age 16 and older are required to have a Kansas fishing license. Licenses will not be sold on site. Cops n’ Bobbers will be on site with poles and bait available for use or you may bring your own. Campfire snack and the Climbing Tower * are available only from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. For more information contact 913-826-2815.

*Open climbing event is for ages 10 and older and is first come first serve from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Climbing participants are required to complete medical and liability releases prior to participating. Forms will be available at the Welcome Center and the climbing tower. You must bring your form to the tower in order to climb. Children under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian’s signature. 

* Participants need to be 8 years or older for the BB gun, sling shot and archery range activities.

Activity Schedule

BB Gun Range, Slingshot Range, and Archery Range open from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Boating and Fishing at our newly renovated waterfront open from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Climbing Tower will be open to first come first serve climbing from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Campfire snack from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Come to the Whispering Pines Shelter at TimberRidge and see Ernie Miller Nature Center staff and meet live animals, visit Johnson County Parks and Recreation District staff, learn from Johnson County Extension Master Naturalists, and visit with Northwest Consolidated Fire Department staff from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Come to the Welcome Center at TimberRidge and receive a free cookie and pick up a treasure hunt to complete. Once completed, return your treasure hunt to the Welcome Center to receive a prize from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Hike the Timber and Lower Timber trails at TimberRidge from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
