Cities for Life – Daytona Beach

Join us for Cities for Life, a global initiative launched in 2002 by the Community of Sant’Egidio. Every November 30, nearly 2,000 cities around the world commemorate the first modern abolition of the death penalty and call for an end to state killing today.

Our 2025 gathering at Our Lady of Lourdes features Bill Kissinger, sharing his deeply moving piece “The Last Breakfast,” written about the final morning he spent with Dobie Gillis Williams before Dobie’s 1999 execution. Bill’s story is a powerful reminder of the humanity that persists even at the threshold of state violence. FADP Executive Director Grace Hanna will also be in attendance.
