Let's Build a Dog Park in Dayton at Highland Park!
Good news! Another dog park is finally coming to Dayton! If you and your four-legged friend have been looking for a place to socialize with other dog-lovers and their fuzzy family members, your wait is over!
Mayor Whaley has approved the installation of the city's first official dog park at Highland Park. (This project is being organized and led by Walnut Hills Neighborhood Association and Linden Heights Community Council along with Wagtown and Montgomery County Public Health Creating Healthy Communities.) This exciting project will beautify an existing park bordering Walnut Hills and connect residents to Linden Heights and other boroughs.
The city of Dayton has committed to more welcoming infrastructure for dog-loving residents. This fun project will create a more responsible pet owners, healthy and safer residents, more connected neighbors, welcoming places, and encourage a more humane and vibrant community.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: Join us to get the site ready for pup play and family fun. Dress for the weather (in layers), wear sturdy walking/hiking shoes, bring refillable water bottle, and your own gloves if you have a favorite pair. Bring a friend!
This event will happen rain or shine (only lighting will cancel it). The Montgomery County Community Pride Resource Trailer will be on hand with tools and supplies. All we need is YOU!
