- **Event Description**: Share your German heritage by being part of this year’s German Potato Salad contest as part of the 43rd GermanFest Picnic! Contestants will drop off their entry of 1 to 1 ½ pounds of German Potato Salad at the Liederkranz Clubhouse - Great Hall, 1400 E. Fifth Street, on Saturday, August 8th between Noon and 12:30 pm. Judging will start at 1pm (start time may vary depending on number of entries).
Entries must include a complete recipe with standard U.S. measurements, a complete list of ingredients in order of use, complete preparation directions, and any other relevant information.
Recipes must include potato as an ingredient; any variety is acceptable. Please specify whether the potatoes should be peeled or unpeeled. Also, be sure to include your name, address, all phone numbers and an e-mail address (if available).
Eligible entries will be judged on the basis of originality, ease of preparation, appearance, consistency and taste. Decisions of the judges are final as to all contest-related matters.
In the event of a tie, the entrant with the highest score in the originality category will be the winner.
Recipes will be shared in a future Newsletter and may also be included in future revisions of Dayton Liederkranz Turners cookbook. Contestants will be photographed and may be asked to participate in a video interview. Any photos or videos may be used in future postings, emails, etc by Dayton Liederkranz Turner.
