Gather the Clan and come to Daylesford for a day of celebrating all things Scottish! Whether you love the sound of bag pipes or want to watch our record breaking Highland Games Athletes, we’ll have something to win over your Scottish loving hearts.
Our iconic Pipe Band Street March begins at 9am in Vincent Street while the rest of the day’s Pipe Band competition alongside the rest of our very full program will continue up at Victoria Park.
The Victorian Highland Dance Championships will be underway with heats from 9.30am.
The Highland Games will also start early with a full program of events, including the ever popular light and heavy hammer throw plus the mighty Caber toss as well. We have Men’s and Women’s athletes arriving from all over the country to compete for
Glory!
New to this year’s event we’ll have Barwon Academy of Arms showcasing their skill with swords in the Scathach Challenge with some added activities for kids to try out too.
The Lilie á Ghlinne Highland cattle were a hit last year and will be returning with a full display.
Our Highland Breed dogs are expanding this year with displays of Scottish terriers, West Highland White terriers and our gorgeous Rough Collies on show.
We’ll have a bustling Celtic and community market for you to walk through plus activities for the wee bairns with face painting, tug-a-war and hay-bale maze.
Our Clans are also descending on Daylesford so get ready to explore your Scottish heritage and sign up to your clan.
Last but not least we’ll have a full selection of delicious hot food to keep you going, including the much loved Haggis burgers from Mowatts. All of which can be washed down with a cold beer or wee dram of Whisky.
So dust off your Kilt, shake out the tartan and mark December 6th in the calendar for a full day of fun!
