Join the City of Moreton Bay for our annual Coxen Birding Day, supporting the ongoing Coxen Fig-parrot Awareness Campaign. This year we’re heading to the beautiful Dayboro area, a historic habitat for the elusive Coxen Fig-parrot — and with the massive fig trees fruiting heavily again, it’s the perfect time to explore.

We’ll kick off with a short talk before heading out across Land for Wildlife properties and Council reserves, where mapped fruiting fig trees provide prime birding spots. Together, we’ll take part in a citizen science survey to log local flora and fauna — and hopefully catch a glimpse of this rarely seen parrot.

Whether you’re a seasoned birder or simply love nature, this is a fantastic way to connect with community, contribute to conservation, and enjoy a morning in one of our region’s most scenic areas.
