A somatic journey through music and movement

Village Dance is a space for our community to show up as we are and to move through the range of life experiences that we carry. The invitation is always to be in your body in the co-created space as we collectively move through the journey-like music. It's an embodiment/somatic practice. 

This month is particularly special, as we have NDEMIK, our resident DJ and co-creator of Village Dance. NDEMIK brings thoughtfully constructed sets that weave together a variety of musical genres.

Schedule:

6:30pm - Doors Open
6:45pm - Opening Circle and Embodiment Workshop with Clover
7:15pm - Dance Journey with NDEMIK
9:00pm - Closing Circle 

Ndemik (Eli Sarnat) has been honing the craft of ecstatic dance dj'ing for the past six years as co-founder of Davis Village Dance. A devoted adherent to the five stages of the journey, Ndemik's sets progress along musical scales, tempos and genres to evoke the full range of our shared human experience. Most of the journey leans towards an ancient future tribal sound. Cutting-edge beats of electronic production are blended with the traditional instrumentation and vocals of world-music. But fear not -- DJ Ndemik always leaves room for flat out dancefloor fun with a few doses of that funk, a sneaky hip-hop banger, and a requisite throw-back remix. Peace, love and wubs!
