- **Event Description**: Spruce, once dominant in the valley, was wiped out from the landscape during the timber boom. Join AmeriCorps Member Hayley Sutton on this guided hike to learn about the work being done to restore this important tree to the valley.

This walk begins at 10AM at the White Grass Ski Touring Center and follows some of the refuge's XC ski trails. The walk will be around two miles and will include uneven terrain. This event may be canceled in the event of inclement weather. Please stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for updates to this event.

Our winter walks take place on snowshoes, conditions allowing. Snowshoes for the Snowshoe Discovery Tours are provided by White Grass. Snowshoe Discovery Tours take place every Sunday from January to March.
