It's that time of year again for one of CAWV's biggest fundraising efforts... Tucker Community Foundation's RUN FOR IT!! CAWV has been competing and raising funds through Run For It since 2012. Since 2020 there has also been an option to do the race virtually which opens the door for more people to be involved and for more funds to be raised. There are many ways we can raise funds with Run For It such as receiving awards for money raised through team and individual sponsorships, participation, race results, as well as other fun awards. Run For It has grown to be one of out top fundraising efforts, which is why we need as much participation as possible.
What-
Tucker Community Foundation's Run For It 2025
Run For It is a 2k (1.2M) walk and a USATF- certified 5k (3.1M) race around the scenic mountain town of Davis, WV during Leaf Peepers Festival. This year's event is scheduled for 11am Saturday Sept. 27th. Speed is not required to win. THe event helps nonprofit and community causes, like CAWV, raise funds and awareness for projects , educational activities, and charities located within the FOundation's service area (Barbour, Grant, Mineral, Pocahontas, Preston, Randolph and Tucker counties in WV and Garrett County, MD)
Virtual from Snowshoe-
Ever since the virtual option has been a thing we have been running, walking and rolling the Run For It together from Snowshoe, simply so that everyone doesn't have to travel to Davis, but also because we love spending time outside together on our mountain. If you cannot make it to Davis on the 27th come Run For It with us at Snowshoe on Sunday August 31st!
How to gain more money for CAWV-
If you decide to be a racer ask for sponsors through word of mouth or sharing on social media! The more money you gain the more funds go to CAWV. If you are not up for being a racer think about sponsoring our team, or a specific racer!!
