Many have found our Widowed Young Support Weekends allow them to do just this.From the moment you arrive you are in the company of others who have all experienced first-hand the pain of losing a partner. It is a safe place to share honestly and openly, as much or as little as you feel able.Over the weekend there will be opportunities to listen to practical suggestions about how to live through bereavement and loss, including sessions on:Responding to feelings of guilt, anger and despairStrategies to help overcome the pain of loss and shattered dreamsComfort, hope and finding a way forwardPractical ideas to help us cope in the tough timesSupporting our children through their personal lossThinking about a new relationshipThe different issues faced by men and womenThere will also be time to rest and relax, and a chance to have some social time together.Our weekends take place in a welcoming and peaceful setting – the ideal place to offer you comfort and reassurance, no matter where you are on your bereavement journey. While we meet in our own area of the hotel, please note that there may also be other groups staying, some of which may include couples. We recognise that this could be difficult for you, and if this is the case, please call us so we can discuss ways that we may be able to minimise any potential issues. All accommodation is en-suite and full board is included in the price. It is also an opportunity to form caring friendships with people you could turn to for understanding and support in the future.I will be hosting this event, along with a dedicated team of befrienders who have all experienced the loss of a partner early in life.
