Since Collector’s Campus is not doing a prerelease for Pitch Black, we’re running a fun alternative: a Modified Ditto Tournament!

Start Time: 7:00 PM
Entry: $15
Format: Best-of-3 Swiss
Rounds: 3 Swiss rounds, with a possible 4th round if time allows

Each player will receive 3 packs from the current era, which may include:

Destined Rivals
Chaos Rising
Perfect Order
Twilight Masquerade
Phantasmal Flames
Surging Sparks

You will combine those 3 packs with 1 entry prize pack to build a 40-card deck by adding basic Energy cards.

Deck construction and gameplay will follow normal prerelease-style rules:

You build a 40-card deck
You play with 4 Prize cards
Best-of-3 matches
Swiss pairings

Modified Ditto Rules:

Any Basic Pokémon can evolve into any Stage 1 Pokémon.

Any Stage 1 Pokémon can evolve into any Stage 2 Pokémon.

All basic Energy will be treated as Basic Luminous Energy.

If you have the true evolution line in your deck, you may “Grand Tree” the line into the Stage 2 from your hand as soon as you lay the card down.

This should be a fun, chaotic, prerelease-style event with some wild evolution plays. Come hang out, crack packs, build something crazy, and battle it out!
