THE PUNISHER ULTRAMARATHON
This is the 12th year of The Punisher Ultramarathon in the Island Garden City Of Samal, Davao Philippines since we started 2014. Race scheduled on May 30-31, 2026 (Saturday & Sunday) at the Botanical Garden (Bandera Nature Park), Barangay Bandera, Kaputian District, Samal Island. We only offer Four (4) categories – 80km, 50km, 25km, and 15km distance.

GUNSTART & CUT-OFF
*80km – 4am on Saturday (May 30, 2026) – 25 hours cut-off, until 5am on Sunday
*50km – 1pm on Saturday (May 30, 2026) – 16 hours cut-off, until 5am on Sunday
*25km – 4am on Sunday (May 31, 2026) – 8 hours cut-off, until 12nn same day
*15km – 5:30am on Sunday (May 31, 2026) – 5 hours & 30 mins cut-off, until 11am same day
NOTE: We don’t have intermediate cut-off all categories, only cut-off at the finish line.
MANDATORY CHECKLIST (80km, 50km, 25km)
*Hydration Pack - at least 1.5 liters
*Headlamp - with extra battery
*Whistle - remember the drill
*Jacket - water proof/thermal
*Gloves - use in mountaineering/trailrunning
*Headwear - anything that covers your head, protects you from cold
*Trail Food - with ziplock and can last from AS to AS
*Cellphone - with load and fully charge battery
*MedKit - for LBM, stomach-ache, headache, emergency blanket, etc.
*Extra Money - for emergency transportation & snacks at the local store
*For 15km category – at least you have water bottle and cellphone for emergency call
REQUIREMENTS (80km & 50km)
*At least a 42km finisher for the 80km category and 21km finisher for 50km category, mountain races and not a whiner. Must be 18 years of age, if not, must provide parent consent and must have current Medical Certificate (2026 April issue).
*For 25km and 15km category, at least you run. Distances are designed for the beginners, kids and seniors. Thank you! 😉
COURSE DESCRIPTION
*50% Technicalities both categories, all categories
*Forest, open trail, dirt roads and single track
*Ridge running for some portion of 50km and 80km distance
*Normal Temperature is humid during day time, and hot at the open trail and roads. And windy and cold during night time

*Lovely Endemic Birds along the course and at the venue
*All highest peaks can be summitted by 80km runners

HOW TO GET THERE
Participants from outside Mindanao, like Cebu, Manila, and Foreign Country, you can book your flight direct to Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao City, Philippines. Davao airport is very close to Samal Island, then take a cab just outside the airport going to Sasa Ferry Wharf to cross Samal Island. Then when you arrived at Samal Island, ask for assistance to the resort where you have a room or accommodation booking, some have a van or vehicle service.
