Biennial Film Festival Davao 2026 is a non competition exhibition grassroots film festival that showcases the best of the best of Philippine Independent Cinema from the advent of Digital Cinema from the 2000s until 2025 with a spotlight on Philippine Regional Filmmaking.


With over 40 short films carefully curated and selected, the two day film exhibition is the indispensable and inviolable proof of Philippine creativity, ingeniuity, and diversity. 


The festival does not call for entries and will never call for entries. However, the film selection and adjacent film committees are composed of people from academia and the film industry.


In light of Surveillance Capitalism, State Sanctioned Media Censorship, Widespread Misinformation and Mass Manipulation, Fast Food Cinema, and Consumerism the festival stands as a cultural event beaming as a beacon of hope for the future of strengthening and fortifying the art, the appreciation, and the discipline of cinema in the Philippine Islands.


This grassroots cultural event is not a political movement nor it is an outward sign of protest against the industry or the establishment, but a celebration and culmination of overcoming trials, tribulations, and near impossible circumstances that all creators and cinematographers went through.


Despite the declaration of the so called Death of Philippine Cinema, we, the community of creators and cinematographers take this opportunity to celebrate all Filipino Filmmakers who have brought or added everlasting glory and prestige to our young Republic.


We, the organizers, creators, and cinematographers remain united and resilient in our resolve not to let culture through cinematography and various artistic pursuits rot, waste, nor perish on our watch.


Film screenings will be held at the Green House Cinema located at Anda Street, Davao City 8000, Republic of the Philippines on March 28 and 29, 2026.
