After the success of our ten day Tasmania tour in 2024, Motafrenz are organising another extended tour in 2026, to Darwin and Kakadu.
We’ll skip the 39 hour, 3800km drive, and fly there instead. We’ll spend 11 nights in total, two at Kakadu and nine in Darwin. Most of our time will be in Darwin, but we’ll also do a couple of day trips exploring Litchfield National Park, Berry Springs, and other nearby attractions.
Darwin is unique in Australia, having been bombed during World War Two, and almost decimated by Cyclone Tracy on Christmas Day in 1974. Much of its tourism is centred around this, especially around its connections to World War Two.
While in Darwin, we’ll visit the War Museum, the World War Two underground tunnels, the old Fanny Bay Gaol, take a tour of Darwin on an old World War Two truck, get a guided tour of Parliament House, visit the Night Market, amongst other activities.
We’ll be traveling there in Winter, where daily top temperatures are likely to be in the low 30’s, and overnight lows in the high teens.
