Help - more love and joy-filled handbags are needed than ever before!
For the tenth year, I'm hosting A.R.T Your Life's annual Handbags of Joy event to collect handbags and fill them with self-love and self-care items.
The overflowing handbags are given to the YWCA in Darwin, which in turn gifts them to the women in their Domestic and Family Violence and Connected Families Programs at their annual Christmas party.
Last year, they needed 58 handbag gifts, and this year they need 65, which is more than ever!
How you can help:
- Donate a handbag and or self-care items
- Come along to this event and help pack the handbags
- Contribute some $$ and I will shop for self-care items for you
What we need: (All new or in as-new condition please)
- Handbags, trendy backpacks, shoulder bags
- Skincare and makeup
- Hair care, treatments, brushes, scrunchies, and accessories
- Fashion jewellery, perfume, and body sprays
- Wallets and clutches
- Journals and notebooks
- Toiletries
- Kids toys
- Christmas treats and ornaments

Please help spread joy to women and children in our local community this Christmas by contributing to this event that supports the YWCA.
The event itself, when we line up all of the self-care items and evenly fill each handbag, is being held on:
� Sunday 30 November
� 2 Kahlin Ave, Larrakeyah
� 2.00PM - 4:00PM
� Tea, coffee and soft drink provided
� BYO bubbles, we have plenty of glasses!
The Process:
Over the years, I have found that the best way to ensure all handbags are filled similarly and with the same value is to sort the donated self-love items into 'same, same' piles and in lines. With your help, we then fill each donated handbag in an assembly line with something from each of the piles.
