Our next instalment of the Runaround Kent takes us back west to the stunning trails of the Darent Valley! As always, this is a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded runners, explore one of Kent’s most beautiful trail running spots, and be part of the growing Embrace Ultra trail running community.

The Route
We’ll cover approximately 10 miles on a mix of trails and pathways around the Darent Valley and Kent Downs. Expect rolling hills, beautiful views, peaceful trails and some muddy sections (it’s all part of the fun!)
Starting at the beautiful Lullingstone Country Park,this 10-mile single-loop route is packed with history, scenery, and proper trail running joy. We’ll head out of Lullingstone country park, taking in views of the Roman Villa, stunning hills, and Lullingstone Castle, before heading down to the picturesque village of Otford, where we will loop back along the peaceful Darent Valley Path. It is over 90% trails with an estimated 300m of elevation gain.
The route will not be marked, so runners are encouraged to download the GPX file or stay with others who have access to the map. If you’re unsure of the way at any point, please wait for the next group of runners to catch up.

What You Need to Bring
- Sufficient drink to keep you hydrated on the run. There is a cafe at the start and finish and we will pass through Otford around half way.
- Snacks or energy gels to keep you well fuelled.
- Trail shoes (essential) and layers appropriate for weather conditions / time of year.
Start/Finish Location
We will meet in the car park of Lullingstone Country Park, Castle Rd, Eynsford DA4 0JF at 09:00 AM. Please aim to arrive by this time as we will aim to leave no later than 9:10 AM. Please only park in designated parking bays and note that parking charges apply. We would strongly encourage car sharing for this run.
Lullingstone Country Park has a cafe, which will be open for use. We will be stopping in there after the run for a much earned coffee and cake. It would be great to have some of the community join us.
