Yes, that's right — we're back with more talent than should legally be allowed in one theatre side boozer!

The musical menu includes From The Workshop (a punk rocker and his suitcase, a folk singer and her voice, creating beautiful harmonies and thought-provoking songs), the mesmerizing Alex Askew (a skilled songwriter and live performer with studio and camera experience, also known from his band Knights of Nevada), and the brilliant Djentleman Jon (a solo acoustic act blending heavy metal and grunge styles for a unique listening experience). Adding depth and dimension to the evening, seasoned local poet Nick Holmes will share his powerful words between sets, bringing his decades of experience from the poetry scene to our stage.

Doors open at 7:30pm, and yes -- admission is completely FREE! Come grab a drink, find a cozy spot, and immerse yourself in an evening of sound and syllables. Bring your friends, your enemies, or that person you've been meaning to have an awkward conversation with - nothing breaks the ice like live music and poetry!

Your plans for the first Thursday night of April? Sorted. You're welcome.

From The Workshop

Alternative folk duo From The Workshop is Helen Rosemary and Jonnie Temple, both based in Bromley. Jonnie, with 20 years of punk rock and ska, had started to embark on a solo folk adventure. After 20 years of not singing, Helen wanted to give it some and it turned out she was quite good after all (thank goodness).

Initially the idea of doing an acoustic alternative rock covers project seemed a novel idea, until Jonnie invited Helen to sing an original song that was close to both their hearts. "Call Me Your Home" gave Helen her confidence and in doing so, she found her true voice. They began to work together, developing harmonies for Jonnie’s originals, capturing the hearts and stomachs of those who dared to listen.

From The Workshop are continuously evolving, writing and performing original foot-stomping folk songs and heartfelt ballads, with themes reflecting their lives.

Jonnie brings his influences from a range of artists such as Show of Hands, Chris Cornell, Frank Turner, and Bayside, while Helen draws on musical theatre alongside a love of Radiohead, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell and Miranda Sykes, together crafting a unique blend of alternative/contemporary folk.
