Join DC Bird Alliance for an unforgettable wildlife experience at Conowingo Dam, home to one of the largest seasonal congregations of Bald Eagles in the continental United States. Each fall and winter, dozens—sometimes more than a hundred—bald eagles gather along the Susquehanna River to fish, soar, and interact in full view of the shoreline. It’s one of the most accessible and breathtaking wildlife spectacles in the Mid-Atlantic.
Whether you're an experienced birder, a photographer looking for the perfect shot, or someone who’s never seen a Bald Eagle in the wild, this trip promises close-up views, extraordinary photo opportunities, and a morning filled with awe.
And yes—your DCBA field leaders will be bringing hot coffee and snacks for the group.
Meet us at Fisherman's Park, coordinates are 39.65565, -76.17359, look for the DC BIRD ALLIANCE banner. Bring your cameras and bring your layers! It's still Winter and we'll be close to the water.
See you outside!
