Join us for a historic and unforgettable celebration as Yakthung Shong Chumvo—formerly known as Tum Yakthung Hang Chumlun—marks its 100th year of establishment, founded on 26 July 1925 in Kalimpong under the visionary leadership of pioneers like Late Matia Singh Thegim, Late Bajbir Subba, Late Iman Singh Chemzong, and many others who shaped the Limbu (Yakthung) community.
This centenary is a tribute to the first Limbu organization of its kind, formed during a time when Yakthung language, culture, and identity faced suppression. Today, the association continues its mission to safeguard, preserve, and promote Yakthung heritage and traditions.
