- **Event Description**: Ready your binoculars! A ranger will be present to lead anyone who wishes to explore the diverse bird species that call this site home. From bald eagles to song birds, wood peckers to cormorants--the Altamaha river has amazing sites and sounds for all to see.

This event requires no pre-registration. Visitors should arrive in adequate outdoor gear for an hour-long leisurely walk that will equal no more than a mile altogether. Binoculars are in minimum supply, so please feel free to bring your own. Cost: standard admission. Historic site annual pass holders receive free entry.

Fort King George is celebrating Earth Day with a weeklong list of fun, environmentally educational activities. From tree plantings, nature walks, to private classes.
