This event mobilises businesses and the community at large in volunteering, caring, leading and giving for the purpose of improving the state of early childhood education in families with low income status or in children affected by fatal illnesses, such as cancer.\n\nEach year in February, a congregation walks a designated distance in support of the cause, participates in the event highlight - the treasure hunt, and other games for prize winning.\n\nOnce the event is over, work of training teachers in the field and of sharing modern resources, as well as sponsoring needy children, starts. The group also visits relevant centres to distribute gifts, organise learning games and generally create some fun in their environment.\n\nUhuru Walk if organised by a hand picked group of young people who are also trained in working together as a team to organise and manage the event."
