With original lyrics and music by Dr. Stan Pelkey, our director of traditional music, and prepared especially for Centenary Methodist Church, Prepare Our Hearts, Oh Lord reflects on the Christmas story and its significance for our lives today. 

From the musical retelling of the visit of the angel Gabriel, to the faithfulness of Mary and Joseph, the glorious announcement of Christ’s birth by the angel choirs, and the star-lit journey of the Magi, Prepare Our Hearts, Oh Lord offers brand new songs for the season, new arrangements of beloved traditional carols, and some lesser-known nativity lyrics by Charles Wesley. Our Sunday morning presentation of the cantata will include vocal soloists, piano, oboe, flute, and viola, as well as narrators offering specially prepared meditative readings.
