Collectors and dealers will be attending will be offering original vintage items for sale from George Washington to Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, JFK, and other candidates and causes.Also featured will be 25 exhibits of rare and unique political memorabilia from the collections of APIC’s members, including a special focus on Massachusetts and other New England candidates through the decades. A sampling of these exhibits include: the First Five Presidents, Political Concerts, Massachusetts Locals, Boston Political Rallies, FDR and Civil Rights, Mayor James Curley, Michael Dukakis, John Kerry, Political Neckties, United Farm Workers, JFK and Nixon Match-up, and the Campaign of 1976.The event will be held at the DoubleTree Boston North Shore hotel (50 Ferncroft Road) in Danvers from Thursday, July 30 through Saturday, Aug. 1. Hours will be 10 am – 5 pm on Thursday; 9 am – 5 pm on Friday; and 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday.Admission to the public is $15; seniors and students are $10; free admission for kids 12 and under. Every child who attends will receive a free bag of political pinback buttons. Attendees also are encouraged to bring political items for FREE appraisals, and items may be auctioned on the spot.The American Political Items Collectors is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the collection, preservation and study of materials relating to political campaigns and the presidency. Founded in 1945, APIC membership includes collectors from all areas: educators, students, archivists, historians, elected officials including members of U.S. Congress, campaign staffers, journalists, content creators, museum curators and even past Presidents!
