Wooden Spoon Carving Workshop

Try your hand at a new skill!

Instructor Jes Steele, of Wood Thrush Wilderness, will lead us in carving functional and beautiful wooden spoons using traditional hand tools and methods. The session will explore the process of gathering the proper tools and materials, techniques to shape the handle and form the “bowl,” and treating the finished spoon for lasting use.

The course fee covers tools, material, instruction, and a spoon or two to take home! Additional tools and kits to take home will be available for purchase through the instructor.

Bring water, snacks, and anything else you need to be comfortable for a few hours in the classroom.

Please note that carving can be physically challenging for your hands and wrist, and this class may not be suitable for those with limitations in hand strength or mobility.
