Lincoln Theater is thrilled to welcome Artist Jane Dahmen to the stage for Talking Art in Maine, hosted by Artist Emily Sabino.


Talking Art in Maine is a series of live, one on one conversations between Host, Emily Sabino, and notable Artists and Curators who have made a substantial contribution to the arts in the state of Maine. All events in the Talking Art in Maine series are offered free to the public.


Jane Dahmen is a contemporary realist whose recent landscapes explore the trees, fields, rivers, streams and coastal regions of Midcoast Maine. Dahmen's work has been shown in solo and group shows both in the U.S. and abroad, including Portland Art Gallery (Portland, ME); Greenhut Gallery (Portland, ME); Gleason Fine Art Gallery (Boothbay, ME); Courthouse Gallery (Ellsworth, ME); Maine Art Gallery (Wiscasset, ME); CMCA (Rockland, ME); McGowan Fine Art Gallery (Concord, NH), and Powers Gallery (Acton, MA). Dahmen was Maine Audubon's signature artist in 2005, and was a featured artist in the September, 2009 issue of Maine Home + Design magazine, and their Artists' Issues of 2011 and 2012.  She was featured in the September 2014 issue of Old Port magazine. One of her paintings hung in the White House in Washington D.C. in the late 1980s - 1990s, and several of her paintings were part of a show at the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia Herzegovina in 2002. Graphique de France sold posters of her work all over the world during the 1990s and early 2000s. In addition to painting, Jane created and hosted “Talking Art in Maine,” at The Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta, where she interviewed Maine artists and curators such as Alex Katz, Katherine Bradford, Lois Dodd, and Suzette McAvoy, among many others.


Jane is represented by The Portland Art Gallery in Portland, ME.

Emily Sabino is an abstract representational painter living in Newcastle, Maine. Her work celebrates the cosmic mysteries of plants, seeds, weather, mountains, sunlight, shadows, and water. Her paintings can be seen in Belfast at Local Color Gallery and Waterfall Arts this winter; at The Song of the Wild exhibit in the summer at Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset, and this fall, her Path Forward exhibition will be at Blue Door Gallery in York. Emily's paintings and full exhibition schedule can be found on her Website, EmilySabinoArt.com, as well as on Instagram, @EmilySabinoArt. In addition to painting, she is the current host of Talking Art in Maine at The Lincoln Theater, where she interviews artists and curators who have made a substantial contribution to the Arts in Maine. Emily is also a Board member of the Union of Maine Visual Artists, and was a reviewer in 2024-2025 for The Maine Arts Commission.
