- **Event Description**: Four Multi-Faith Writers Take on the Holidays, at Dalton Creative Arts GuildJewish, Christian, Spiritual Atheistic and Buddhist Perspectives representedDALTON, GA – The Dalton Creative Arts Guild will host "Four Multi-faith Writers Take on the Holidays" on Thursday, December 11 at 6 p.m. The free event brings together four acclaimed writers from diverse spiritual backgrounds for an evening of storytelling and conversation about the complexity of the holiday season.The program acknowledges that the holidays mean something different to everyone—encompassing joy, struggle, reflection, and contradiction. The evening promises humor, insight, vulnerability and lively conversation.Featured Writers:Sarah Einstein teaches creative writing at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is the author of Mot: A Memoir and Self-Portrait in Apologies. Her essays and short stories have appeared in the Sun, Ninth Letter, PANK, and other journals. Her work has been reprinted in Best of the Net and awarded a Pushcart Prize and the AWP Prize for Creative Nonfiction.Paul Luikart is the author of seven short story collections, including Animal Heart (Hyperborea Publishing, 2016), Brief Instructions, Metropolia, The Museum of Heartache, The Realm of the Dog, Cult Life, and Mercy. He is an adjunct professor of fiction writing at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, and lives in Chattanooga with his family.Eric Kruger provides executive training and coaching on goal-setting, career issues, leadership, diversity/inclusion, negotiation, cross-cultural management, and holistic retirement. Originally from the UK, he received degrees from University College, London and the London School of Economics. He has worked at the United Nations on economic development projects, in business throughout the US, Europe, and Latin America, and has taught at Columbia, Cornell, and UTC.Les Kertay (Lobsang Tharchin) is a devoted practitioner and teacher in the Gelug lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. After a long career as a clinical psychologist and corporate leadership roles in workplace mental health, he established a center for Tibetan Buddhism in Chattanooga. He studied Buddhist philosophy for many years, most recently with Lama Lobsang Samten of the Paramita Centres in Québec and Toronto, where he trained as a teacher and was encouraged to bring the Paramita Center teachings to the US.The event is free and open to the public. No reservation required.
