In Bodeen, Texas, an indie-rock-loving misfit finds a way of dealing with small-town misery after discovering a roller derby league in nearby Austin. Featuring a star-studded cast including Elliott Page, Drew Barrymore (who directed!), Juliette Lewis, Zoë Bell, and Kristen Wiig, WHIP IT is a unique blend of indie sleaze coming-of-age story and raucous roller derby sports movie, and will ring authentic for anyone subjected to small town America in the Naughts.
