This event was a call to action after seeing the increase in violence against femme and marginalized folks in general, so we decided to take matters into our own hands.It is vital we learn how to protect ourselves and navigate the world without fear. Let this be a safe space for learning to escape an attacker's hold. Students will learn the basics in situational awareness, setting physical boundaries, and release and break away techniques that will assist them in running to safety. Instructor Diana Casabar is a fourth degree black belt and has been leading this work for many years. We are grateful to have her lead this with us one last time.The course will take up the full three hours. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring water. Snacks will be available. This is a femme and queer folks of color focused space. Sliding scale donations ($10 minimum) are highly encouraged. If you are financially unable please email and we will include you still.
