Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to describe the multi-specialty role in the management of pediatric dysphagia and complex airway.  Topics will include clinical and instrumental evaluation of dysphagia, pediatric airway disorders and management, pulmonology, gastroenterology, sialorrhea, tracheostomy and other special populations.
Learner Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, all participants will be able to:

Describe instrumental evaluations of swallowing: FEES and VFSS

Define and describe pediatric complex airway diagnoses

Identify opportunities for multi-specialty management for children with feeding, airway, secretion management and aerodigestive disorders

Describe role of Otolaryngology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Speech Pathology, and Physical Medicine in pediatric aerodigestive, airway and feeding disorders

Describe airway and feeding complications associated with special populations

Identify anatomy of pediatric airway and important differences when compared to adult airway

Identify parts and accessories of tracheostomy tubes

Describe voice disorders often encountered in special airway populations

Who Should Attend:
This course is designed for Speech/Language Pathologists,  Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
Continuing Education Credit:
This course is offered for 1.5 ASHA CEUs (Intermediate level, Professional area)-Applied for ASHA CEU, pending approval.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:
Refund requests must be received in writing at least two weeks prior to the conference. No refunds will be made thereafter.
