Linna’s talk is the prelude to a screening of the locally-produced and filmed creature feature classic, THE GIANT GILA MONSTER (1959).

Come early for DJ fun spinning rare and obscure hits of 1963, including local musician Joe Johnson’s “Giant Gila Monster.” Please visit the Kicks Books/Norton table and snag a keepsake poster of the night’s event.

Miriam Linna joined seminal Psychobilly band The Cramps in 1976 as its original drummer. She and Billy Miller co-founded New York-based Norton Records in 1986 to uncover, and recover great un-lauded music — hillbilly, rhythm & blues, instrumental, garage, doowop, and soul music. In 2013 Linna debuted Songs from the Grassy Knoll, an album of tribute and topical songs regarding the JFK assassination.

Co-presented by Half Price Books, Top Ten Records, and the Dallas Municipal Archives.
