Hop On Soul of DFW’s Oklahoma Black History Tour!
Join us Saturday, May 24 at 11 a.m. as we depart from Dallas for a powerful, unforgettable journey through Black history in Oklahoma—led by Texas historian and founder of Soul of DFW, Deah Berry Mitchell.
First stop: the legendary Boley Rodeo, the oldest Black rodeo in the nation. Held annually since 1903, this Memorial Weekend tradition brings together generations to celebrate community, cowboy culture, and the legacy of one of the last surviving all-Black towns. You’ll walk the historic main street, visit the site of one of the first Black-owned banks, and hear firsthand stories from Boley locals as we explore the town’s rich past.
Then we head to Tulsa for an overnight stay at a 4-star hotel, where you’ll rest up for the night before eating breakfast and heading to a guided tour of the historic Black Wall Street by a descendant. Walk the streets where Black entrepreneurship once flourished and learn about the triumphs and tragedies that shaped the Greenwood District.
Tickets are $599 per person and include round-trip charter bus transportation, overnight lodging, breakfast, snacks and beverages on the bus, and all tours. Klarna payment plans are available. *price based on double occupancy hotel rate. Grab a roommate and purchase today!
