David, the son of Dr. Dawn Evans, associate professor in Misericordia’s Occupational Therapy Department, and her husband, Dave Evans, died by suicide on April 11, 2014. Each year, this special 5K brings our campus and local communities together in David’s memory while raising awareness and supporting future Misericordia students.

Sponsored by the Misericordia Student Occupational Therapy Association (MSOTA) and New Student & Family Programs, all proceeds benefit the David A. Evans, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund at Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre. The scholarship supports graduating Holy Redeemer seniors who enroll as incoming first-year students at Misericordia University.
