She’ll discuss her work with organizations to evaluate accessibility, offer recommendations, and demonstrate how empathy can help designers create more inclusive experiences.Melissa Brito-Alvarez, Manager of Access Programs and Resources at the Dallas Museum of Art, will introduce visual-impairment simulation glasses before leading us into the galleries for a hands-on experience exploring how visitors with varying levels of vision navigate and experience museum spaces. She’ll also take us behind the development of the DMA’s tactile reproductions of artwork and how these resources were created to make art more accessible to blind and low-vision visitors. We’ll also have the special opportunity to walk through an exhibition with a DMA Exhibition Designer, seeing the exhibition through a designer’s eyes and learning how the experience comes together. We’ll explore how accessibility and inclusive design inform elements such as exhibition layout, labels, wayfinding, braille, tactile elements, and multisensory experiences. We’ll wrap up with questions and group discussion, followed by an optional off-site networking lunch for anyone who would like to continue the conversation.Sunday, November 22 | 11 AM–1 PMDallas Museum of Art1717 N Harwood St, Dallas, TX 75201For accessibility needs or accommodations, please contact us at contact@aigadallas.org.Only 20 spots are available—grab your ticket before this fall field trip fills up! - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/dallas/aiga-dallas-2026-field-trip-design-beyond-sight/100002002896496337 - **Event Categories**: fitness, Art, Exhibitions - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 - **Event Highlights**: - Duration: 2 hours - Location: Dallas Museum of Art - Languages: English ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 12.51, max: 28.52, currency: USD ## Event venue details - **city**: Dallas - **state**: TX - **country**: United States - **location**: Dallas Museum of Art - **lat**: 32.7875132 - **long**: -96.80089400000001 - **full address**: Dallas Museum of Art, 1717 North Harwood, Dallas, United States ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: AIGA Dallas 2026 Field Trip: Design Beyond Sight - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events5/banners/0e1c02268f175fee84801ba09e26bd71ffe7aa417d30600e5a188152904f37a9-rimg-w1200-h600-dcf8f8e8-gmir.jpg?v=1791262865 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is AIGA Dallas 2026 Field Trip: Design Beyond Sight being held? - **A:** AIGA Dallas 2026 Field Trip: Design Beyond Sight takes place on Sun, 22 Nov, 2026 at 11:00 am to Sun, 22 Nov, 2026 at 01:00 pm at Dallas Museum of Art, 1717 North Harwood, Dallas, United States. - **Q**: Who is organizing AIGA Dallas 2026 Field Trip: Design Beyond Sight? - **A:** AIGA Dallas 2026 Field Trip: Design Beyond Sight is organized by AIGA DFW. - **Q**: Who is this event for?
